Temple University – Library

Project-2

Size: 215,000 s.f.

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Temple is building a new library on its main campus in Philadelphia which will house Temple’s collection of over two million volumes, plus special collections. Located in the center of the campus, the new library will consist of four levels of interior space, as well as a basement and will include student study, research, and reference areas; special collections, exhibit, and event spaces; and administrative and support space. As part of the new library, Temple intends to install an Automated Storage and Retrieval System which will be the critical mechanism for implementing on-site storage and retrieval of Temple’s collection. The roof level will include a green roof area and some terrace space.

Aegis provided Preconstruction Services to Temple University during the planning and early implementation phases of their new library project, including cost estimating; logistics planning; schedule development and analysis; value engineering; oversight and management support of the contracting bidding and related contract development efforts, early sitework and foundation construction phases, and economic opportunity plan.
