Design Center Philadelphia is the area’s premier destination for fine furnishings, offering design professionals access to some of the world’s most prestigious brands and sought-after designer offerings, and the luxury of one-stop shopping. Originally located at 2400 Market Street, the interior design companies in the Marketplace Design Center were required to vacate their previous space as part of a proposed redevelopment project.

Aegis guided Marketplace Design Center (now Design Center Philadelphia) through a site search for location options in Philadelphia, which led to a comprehensive assessment of six options ranging from a fitout in high rise offices to renovation of a warehouse in the Navy Yard. They ultimately selected the former Family Court Building in the East Market Development.

Aegis managed relocation of seven of the interior design companies into temporary quarters in the Witherspoon Building, followed by oversight of Landlord’s Work at East Market and the interior fitout of the seven new showrooms.

Other team members include Eimer Design as architect and C. Erickson & Sons as contractor.
