Chestnut Hill Academy built a 24,000 s.f. science building adjacent to its historic Inn Building.  The Rorer Center includes eight state-of-the-art science classrooms and prep rooms including upper school robotics, physics, chemistry and biology labs and two lower school labs and classrooms.  Demonstration building systems include photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind turbine, gray water and irrigation systems.  This two story building features a high efficiency building envelope, mechanical and electrical systems and environmentally responsive design and construction.  This project also complies with the new Philadelphia storm water regulations.

Project team members include Lilley Dadagian Architects, Turner Construction Company, and Bruce E. Brooks & Associates.

The project is LEED Gold certified.
