AtlantiCare had identified the region near Long Beach Island as an area lacking in integrative medical care and specialties and a viable location to expand their services in South Jersey. In October 2015 AtlantiCare purchased a former Pathmark, located on Route 72 in Manahawkin, NJ, to re purpose into a health complex. The design for the renovation included primary care, clinical laboratory services, cardiology, specialty time share exam space, community pharmacy, community areas, a café, and outdoor garden; as well as tenant space for Rothman Orthopedics, and AMI medical imaging services.

The space was designed to consider the future of outpatient medical care including biometric kiosks for patient check-in and flexible exam pods that can accommodate various specialty time share opportunities.

Aegis was retained to provide project management services in September 2016 assisting AtlantiCare manage design changes, construction, and occupancy of the project. An expedited schedule, design changes requested by end users, and medical equipment FF&E procurement and install coordination required a high level of project management by the Aegis team.

Other team members included Stantec Design, O’Donnell Naccarato, DCC Design, Kore Design, Cofco Group, and OA Peterson.

Aegis has worked on more than 12 AtlantiCare projects, many still in progress.
