CAMDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT | CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY
New Jersey Educational Facilities Construction and Financing Act provides for school renovation and construction projects in 30 special needs school districts, known as the Abbott school districts throughout New Jersey. New Jersey Economic Development Authority (“NJEDA”) who in turn created New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation has been assigned responsibility for financing, designing and constructing all of the school facilities projects in the Abbott school districts. NJSCC implemented this estimated $8 billion undertaking by selecting eleven regional project management firms throughout the state. The work in Camden School District consists of new construction, full renovations and site acquisitions for 39 schools valued in excess of $800 million over the next decade. Currently $50 million in health and safety in all existing schools is complete. 13 new schools and renovations are currently in design and site acquisition.
