	McCONNELLSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA Fulton County Medical Center ("FCMC"), located in McConnellsburg, PA, is a community based critical access hospital and nursing home which serves the people of Fulton County and surrounding areas in south-central Pennsylvania and western Maryland. The $35 million project consists of a new 21 bed, 67,000 s.f. acute care replacement hospital and a 67 bed, 30,000 s.f. long term care facility. The design of the one level building includes environmentally friendly sustainable building concepts. The project also includes extensive sitework, a helipad and healing gardens for the long term care wings.

Aegis Property Group Role:

Aegis Property Group was retained by FCMC in January 2005 to prepare an evaluation of the Medical Centers development project. The evaluation process included a review of the design development documents, and related cost estimate and value engineering suggestions. The process also included preparation of a comprehensive project budget including not only construction costs, but also design and consultant fees, owner's work and financing costs. After completion of the project evaluation, Aegis was retained to provide project management services for the balance of the design process. Aegis led the design team and construction manager through a challenging scope reduction process in order to align the project scope with the Medical Center's financial capabilities. Construction started in June 2006 and is scheduled for completion in November 2007.
