Aegis Property Group provided project management services for the design and construction of the fitout of Virtua Health’s Health and Wellness Center in Washington Township, NJ. The phased construction was completed in December 2009.

Given that the Virtua Health and Wellness Center was conceived to be a destination for families and community members alike, the open house on January 23, 2010, was quite well attended. With onsite physician offices, diagnostic testing, and outpatient surgery, visitors can see their doctors and undergo tests or procedures without ever leaving the center. Guests can also exercise at the fitness center, relax with a massage at the med spa and enjoy a heart-healthy meal in the cafe.

Virtua programs in the new facility include an ambulatory surgical center, radiation oncology suite, occupational health/urgent care facility, sleep lab, antenatal testing unit, wound care suite, metabolic center, café, conference center, cardiac rehab facility, rehabilitation center, child care and fitness centers and retail.
Approximately 350 new permanent healthcare and support jobs were created with the opening of the Health and Wellness Center. In addition to being a provider of jobs in the community, Virtua Health considered the environment as well. The design of the facility incorporates green principles of water savings, energy efficiency and materials selection.

Aegis Property Group is working on the Virtua Voorhees and Moorestown projects in the same capacity. Virtua projects are led by partner-in-charge Bob Stoeckle.
